We Need to Talk Foundation
2024 – 2025
I conducted a nationwide mixed-methods research project examining period poverty in socioeconomically disadvantaged regions of Turkey, with a particular focus on earthquake-affected communities.
The study analyzed:
Access to menstrual products, sanitation, and health education
Structural causes such as income inequality, stigma, and supply chain disruption
Impacts on physical health, mental well-being, school attendance, and workforce participation
Working closely with the We Need to Talk Foundation, I integrated community-based insights and translated findings into policy-oriented recommendations emphasizing inclusive menstrual health policies and disaster-responsive planning.
Focus areas: public health research, gender equity, policy analysis, social impact

I am developing a mobile application aimed at combating period poverty by improving access to menstrual health resources, education, and support networks.
Key contributions include:
User research focused on underserved communities
Feature design prioritizing accessibility and stigma reduction
Collaboration with national NGOs to expand reach and impact
The project bridges technology, advocacy, and public health, translating research into a scalable digital solution.
Tech stack: Python-based backend, mobile app development
Focus areas: health equity, social entrepreneurship, UX for impact

2023 – 2025
I developed a low-cost, three-layer pipette-based water filtration system designed for emergency and disaster settings. The project was initiated in response to clean water shortages following the 2023 Hatay earthquake.
The prototype integrates:
Silver nanoparticles for antimicrobial filtration
A visual indicator layer to detect water contamination
A modular, portable design optimized for rapid deployment
The system achieves comparable filtration performance at nearly 10× lower cost than conventional filters and received three innovation awards for affordability and real-world impact.
Focus areas: humanitarian engineering, applied chemistry, public health, product design

ClarityDx is a healthtech initiative focused on improving early medical image triage for resource-limited clinics using AI.
I designed and built:
Python-based classification models for X-ray and ultrasound images
Noise-resilient approaches optimized for small and imperfect datasets
A prototype platform integrating image upload, AI inference, and explainable visual outputs
The project emphasizes ethical AI, clinical usability, and accessibility rather than automation-only decision making.
Focus areas: machine learning, medical imaging, explainable AI, global health
